Hi my name is Wendy and I want to give you a warm welcome and thank you for visiting this space. I am the counsellor/therapist behind The Growing Space. I hope you feel you can connect, reflect and grow with me on your journey. I offer a variety of counselling approaches via phone, online and in-person allowing the flexibility we need in today's busy world.
About me and my practice
I believe we are who we are today due to our past experiences, however I also believe they do not have to define who we are or want to be, we are not fixed beings. I offer a non judgemental, supportive and safe space with a compassionate, sensitive and curious approach for us to work together for the future you want. I offer in-person, phone and online sessions allowing the flexibility we need in today's busy world.
I am a university qualified professional integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with a pluralistic approach, and experience of working with adults of all ages and backgrounds.
What does that mean?
All it means is that I work with each client as individuals, tailoring my approach and the session to be as unique as you. I believe in meeting you where you are right now and the rest we can work on together. I am here to support and empower you on your journey.

Experience
My background and experience
My passion for supporting people has always been present, however the start of this journey into counselling started over 15 years ago within the holistic industry. I learned how important it was to support people in feeling good on the inside and how connected the mind and body were. This wasn't the right time for me to start my counselling journey, however it lead me to step into a role of supporting women and children escaping domestic abuse. This is a role I still feel very passionate about today. I also have experience of working with and teaching large groups of people, this led me to co-run a support group for bereaved individuals struggling with their loss and grief, which I still run today. For the past two years I have worked with a leading mental health charity in Cheshire and within an open ended face to face small charity in Rugeley before I decided to make the leap into private practice.
I work in a trauma informed way while supporting my clients on their journey. I have also completed training and have experience of working with baby and infant loss, domestic abuse (DA) and intermate partner violence (IPV), shame, bereavement, suicide, couples and relationship problems, and addictions. I can also work with the families, partners and friends of people struggling as I know how difficult it can also be for loved ones.

I offer a free twenty minute telephone consultation to explore what it is you want from counselling and for you to decide if you would like to work with me.
Fees
From £45 for a 50 minute session.
Sessions must be paid for 24 hours before the session.
